Chloroprene - Chloroprene

One of the haloalkenes (alkenes with halogen atoms). Its correct name is 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene. It is a volatile colorless liquid. There is an industrial method for synthesizing it from butadiene. In the butadiene process, butadiene is chlorinated at 300°C, then isomerized with a copper salt catalyst to obtain 3,4-dichloro-1-butene, which is then dehydrochlorinated with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide to produce it.

It polymerizes easily with light, heat, and oxygen. The polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization is heat-resistant, chemical-resistant, aging-resistant, and flame-retardant, and is widely used as a synthetic rubber known as neoprene, and is also used as a rubber-based adhesive.

ハロアルケン（ハロゲン原子をもつアルケン）の一つ。正しくは2-クロロ-1,3-ブタジエンという。揮発性の無色液体。工業的製法として、ブタジエンから合成する方法がある。ブタジエン法は、ブタジエンを300℃で塩素化したのち銅塩触媒により異性化させて得た3,4-ジクロロ-1-ブテンを、水酸化ナトリウム水溶液で脱塩化水素することにより製造する。

　光、熱、酸素により容易に重合する。乳化重合して得た重合体は耐熱性、耐薬品性、耐老化性、難燃性をもち、ネオプレンの商品名で知られる合成ゴムとして広く利用され、またゴム系接着剤としても用いられている。
