The capital of the Orange Free State in the center of South Africa. It is also the judicial capital of South Africa. It is located about 1,200 km inland by rail from Cape Town. It is at an altitude of 1,400 m. It is a railway hub and is home to the Supreme Court, a university (established in 1855), and the National Archives.
