Shamisen group song - Shamisen group song

Japanese:
Shamisen group song - Shamisen group song
〘Noun〙 A type of shamisen song. It is called kumiuta because it combines lyrics from popular songs and folk songs into one song. It is the oldest type of artistic shamisen music in mainland Japan. It is said to have been started by Ishimura Kengyo around the time of Bunroku ( 1592-96 ), and was passed down by Torasawa, Yamai, Yanagawa Kengyo, and others. There are Honte-gumi and Ha-te-gumi, and Ha-te-gumi breaks the Honte-gumi hand (shamisen) style and uses complex and unusual hands. Later, the training was divided into four stages: Omote, Ura, Naka, and Oku, and they are called Omote-gumi and Ura-gumi, but since each school gave permission and a license, they are also called Omote-goshi and Oku-goshi. The lyrics and melody of songs with the same name vary depending on the school. After the Yanagawa school, which was centered in Kyoto, the Nogawa school was born in Osaka, and both schools remained, but now only the Nogawa school has passed down the complete songs. Samisen kumiuta.
