Born: September 17, 1814. [Died] September 9, 1897. Hungarian politician and archaeologist. He became a member of the Hungarian parliament in 1839, and participated in the revolutionary government during the revolution and war of 1848-49. After the defeat, he went into exile with Kossuth. In 1862, he participated in the anti-Austrian independence movement led by G. Garibaldi in Italy. After receiving an amnesty in 1866, he returned to the country and became director of the National Museum, where he achieved many accomplishments.
