Thai politician. Royal name Luang Praditmanutham. After graduating from the law school attached to the Ministry of Justice, he studied in France at the age of 21. He formed a group of comrades there with Prayoon and others who aimed for a constitutional revolution. He returned to Thailand in 1927 and worked for the Ministry of Justice. As a leader of the civil servant faction of the Thai People's Party, he participated in the constitutional revolution of 1932, drafting the Thai People's Party Manifesto and the Charter for the Provisional Government of Siam, outlining the basic principles of Thai constitutionalism. In 1933, he was branded a communist for drafting a national economic plan, and fled overseas for a time. After returning to Thailand, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and was active in a wide range of areas, including the abolition of unequal treaties and the founding of Thammasat University.

タイの政治家。欽賜名ルワン･プラディットマヌータム。法務省付属法律学校卒業後，21歳でフランスへ留学。プラユーンらとともに同地に立憲革命を目指した同志グループを結成。1927年帰国，法務省に勤務。人民党の文官派のリーダーとして32年の立憲革命に参加，人民党宣言やシャム国臨時統治憲章を起草し，タイ立憲制の基本理念を描き出した。33年起草の国家経済計画案で共産主義者の烙印を押され一時海外へ逃れた。帰国後，外務大臣などを歴任，不平等条約の撤廃，タマサート大学の創設など幅広く活躍。
