Plasma emission method

Japanese: プラズマ発光法 - プラズマはっこうほう

This is an analytical method in which rare gas elements such as argon or helium are discharged in a gaseous state to generate a high-temperature medium of 4,000 to 10,000 K, and a sample solution is introduced into the plasma to quantitatively or qualitatively determine the target element in the sample from the emission intensity of atoms, ions, and molecules. Argon and helium plasmas are also called rare gas plasmas, but such plasmas can be classified as direct current plasmas, high frequency plasmas, and microwave plasmas, and direct current, high frequency (27 to 50 MHz), and microwaves (2,450 MHz) are used to generate and maintain the plasma.

アルゴンやヘリウムといった希ガス元素を気体状態でプラズマ放電させて4000～1万Kの高温媒体を生成し，そのプラズマ中に試料溶液を導入して，原子，イオン，分子の発光強度から試料中の目的元素の定量または定性を行う分析法。アルゴンやヘリウムのプラズマを希ガスプラズマとも呼ぶが，このようなプラズマは直流プラズマ，高周波プラズマ，マイクロ波プラズマとも分類されるように，プラズマの生成･維持には直流電流，高周波(27～50MHz)，マイクロ波(2450MHz)が用いられる。
