Ship King
?-? Grandson of Emperor Tenmu during the Nara period.
Prince of Toneri. Older brother of Emperor Junnin. Served as the head of the Gigaku-no-kami at the ceremony to open the eyes of the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple. During the Tachibana Naramaro Incident, he tortured those involved and killed King Kibumi and King Doso. He became a prince in 759, but was exiled to Oki in 760 for his involvement in the Fujiwara no Nakamaro Rebellion.

舎人(とねり)親王の王子。淳仁(じゅんにん)天皇の兄。東大寺の大仏開眼会で伎楽頭(ぎがくのかみ)をつとめた。橘奈良麻呂(たちばなの-ならまろ)の変では,関係者を拷問し,黄文(きぶみの)王,道祖(ふなどの)王らを殺害した。天平宝字(てんぴょうほうじ)3年(759)親王となるが,8年藤原仲麻呂(なかまろ)の乱に関係したとして隠岐(おき)に流された。
