Regular transaction - Regular transaction

This is one of the methods of buying and selling securities at a stock exchange, and is named after the fact that it is the most common method. According to the Tokyo Stock Exchange's trading volume statistics, more than 99% of the trading volume is done through regular trading. In the United States, it is called the regular way. For stocks, settlement is done on the fourth day (excluding holidays) from the day of the conclusion of the sales contract (also called fourth-day trading). For example, a contract on Monday is settled on Thursday, the fourth day from that day, and a contract on Thursday is settled on the following Tuesday. For bonds, since most are traded over the counter, there is freedom in principle as long as there is an agreement between the parties, but for market transactions such as government bonds, regular trading is done on the fourth day, just like stock trading. Regular trading involving lending and borrowing is called margin trading in Tokyo and margin trading in Kansai.

証券取引所における有価証券の売買取引方法の一つで、もっとも一般的に行われていることからこの名がある。東京証券取引所の売買高統計によると、売買高の99％以上が普通取引によっている。アメリカではレギュラー・ウェーregular wayという。株式については、売買契約締結の日から数えて4日目（休業日を除く）に決済が行われる（4日目取引ともいう）。例をあげると、月曜日の契約はその日から起算して4日目の木曜日に決済され、木曜日の契約は翌週の火曜日に決済される。債券については、多くが店頭取引であるため、当事者間の合意があれば原則自由であるが、国債のような市場取引の場合、普通取引は株式取引同様に4日目取引である。貸借取引を伴う普通取引を東京では信用取引、関西ではマージン取引とよんでいる。
