Yoshiaki Kira

Japanese: 吉良義昭 - きらよしあきら

?-? A military commander in the Sengoku period.
The third son of Kira Yoshitaka. He succeeded the Saijo Kira clan in Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture). He was transferred to Tojo Castle by Imagawa Ujizane in place of his second brother, Kira Yoshiyasu. In 1561, he fought against Matsudaira Motoyasu (Tokugawa Ieyasu) and surrendered. In 1563, he was promoted to commander of the Mikawa Ikko Ikki rebellion and fought against Ieyasu again, escaping to Omi (Shiga Prefecture), but was killed in battle in Settsu Akutagawa (Osaka Prefecture), and the Saijo Kira clan came to an end.

吉良義尭(よしたか)の3男。三河(愛知県)西条吉良氏をつぐ。今川氏真(うじざね)により次兄吉良義安にかわって東条城にうつされる。永禄(えいろく)4年(1561)松平元康(徳川家康)とたたかい降伏。6年三河一向一揆の主将に推されふたたび家康とたたかい,近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)にのがれるが,摂津芥川(大阪府)で戦死し,西条吉良氏はたえた。
