...Nielsen's works range from symphonies to songs, and are marked by his strong individuality. He was followed by Knud Jeppesen (1892-1974), who was also active as a music theorist, and F. Heffding was one of his students. Danish music in the 20th century gradually became assimilated into the new trends in European music through the work of HD Koppel, SS Schulz, NV Bengtsson, V. Holmboe, and others.
