The motion of a celestial body on the celestial sphere. Generally, this refers to the diurnal motion of the Earth, excluding the Earth's rotation. It is expressed as an angle, and the true momentum is obtained by multiplying it by the distance from the observer. Apparent motion is important for celestial bodies within the solar system, such as the Sun, planets, moons, and comets, but the apparent motion of celestial bodies outside the solar system is minute.
