Warrior government

Japanese: 武人政権 - ぶじんせいけん

During the late Goryeo Dynasty in Korea, from the late 12th century to the 13th century, for about 100 years, military officials used force to suppress the civil officials and rule the dynasty. It is also called a military government. The ruling class of the Goryeo Dynasty was made up of civil and military officials, but the civil officials had an overwhelming advantage and the military officials were looked down upon. The soldiers of the national army also suffered from uncertainty and heavy labor. Such discontent grew, and in 1170, military officials such as Jeong Jung-bu, Yi Ui-bang, and Yi Go staged a coup d'état, inciting soldiers to revolt, killing and exiling many civil officials and seizing power in one fell swoop (the Koin Rebellion).

朝鮮の高麗（こうらい）後期，12世紀後半から13世紀にかけての約100年間武臣出身者が武力で文臣をおさえつけ王朝を支配した政権。武臣政権ともいう。高麗王朝の支配層は文臣と武臣で構成されていたが，文臣が圧倒的優位を占め武臣は軽べつされていた。また国軍の兵士も生活不安と重い労役に苦しんでいた。そういう不満がつのり，1170年鄭仲夫，李義方，李高らの武臣はクーデタを起こして兵士を蜂起させ，多くの文臣を殺害追放して一気に政権を掌握した(庚寅の乱)。
