Quantometer

Japanese: カントメーター（英語表記）quantometer

This refers to an automated, simultaneous, quantitative analysis of multiple elements that uses emission spectra in the visible and ultraviolet ranges or X-ray fluorescence spectra. It was originally the product name given to a photoelectric quantitative emission spectrometer developed by the American company ARL (Applied Research Laboratory), but has since become commonly used as a common noun. Those for the visible and ultraviolet ranges are automated by adopting photoelectric photometry, which applies the principle of quantitative emission spectrometry using a spectrograph and photographic material.

可視･紫外域における発光スペクトルや，X線蛍光スペクトルを利用した自動方式の多元素同時定量分析装置をいう。もともとはアメリカのARL(Applied Research Laboratory)社が開発した光電式発光定量分光分析装置につけられた商品名であるが，その後慣用的に普通名詞として用いられるようになった。可視･紫外域用のものは，分光写真器と写真感材を用いる発光定量分光分析の原理を光電測光法を採用して自動化したものである。
