Japanese: 富士の巻狩 - ふじのまきがり

Minamoto no Yoritomo held a large-scale hunting party at the foot of Mt. Fuji in May 1193 (4th year of Kenkyu). That same year, Yoritomo had already held hunting parties in Nasuno, Shimotsuke, and Miharano, Shinano, mobilizing many of his vassals. This series of hunting parties was likely a demonstration of his own suitability as the head of a military government, following his appointment as Shogun the previous year. The famous Soga brothers were avenged during the hunting party at Fuji. Yoritomo was also delighted that his eldest son, Yoriie, had shot a deer, so he stopped the hunt that day, held a ceremony to give thanks to the mountain god, and held a large drinking party, reporting this to Hojo Masako in Kamakura.

源頼朝が建久４年（1193年）５月に富士の裾野で行った大規模な巻狩。頼朝はこの年すでに下野那須野・信濃三原野などで多くの御家人を動員して巻狩を挙行している。この一連の巻狩は，前年の征夷大将軍補任を受けて，みずからが武家政権の首長として相応しいことを改めて誇示したものとみられる。著名な曾我兄弟の敵討ちは富士の巻狩の折に成し遂げられた。また嫡子頼家が鹿を射とめたことを喜んだ頼朝は，その日の狩を中止して山の神に感謝する儀式を行い，盛大な酒宴を開き，このことを鎌倉の北条政子に伝えている。
