Fuji's human hole - Fuji no Hitoana

Japanese: 富士の人穴 - ふじのひとあな
Fuji's human hole - Fuji no Hitoana
Otogi-zoshi. Also called "Nita Shiro" and "Fuji no Hitoana Zoshi." During the Shoji era (1199-1201), Wada Heita Tanenaga was ordered by Minamoto no Yoriie to enter the Hitoana of Fuji, where he knew no one, but was chased away by a woman dressed in a twelve-layered kimono and weaving a loom. Yoriie again issued his imperial command to the world, and Nitta (Nita) Shiro Tadatsune (Tadatana) of Izu Province came forward to leave a large estate for his two children, dressed in fine attire, and went to Hitoana, where he encountered the Great Bodhisattva Fuji Sengen in the form of a poisonous snake. Three times a day and night, he presented the precious sword and sword that Yoriie had given to the poisonous snake, which was causing pain in all six senses. The Great Bodhisattva then transformed from a poisonous snake into a boy and guided Nitta to the six realms of hell, hungry ghost, animal, asura, human, and heaven.
