A town in the southern part of the Tsugaru Plain, Minamitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture. It borders Hirosaki City on the east and is served by the Ou Main Line and Gono Line. It is a prolific producer of rice and apples, as well as grapes. The ruins of Fujisaki Castle, built by the surviving child of Abe Sadato during the Kanji era, are located here. In March 2005, Tokiwa Village, Minamitsugaru District, was incorporated. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 37.29 km2 . 16,021 people (2010). 青森県南津軽郡,津軽平野南部の町。弘前(ひろさき)市に東接し,奥羽本線,五能線が通じる。米とリンゴの多産地で,ブドウも産する。寛治年間安倍貞任(さだとう)の遺児が築城した藤崎城跡がある。2005年3月南津軽郡常盤村を編入。東日本大震災で,町内において被害が発生。37.29km2。1万6021人(2010)。
