Vitiligo vulgaris. Also known as albinism. A type of white spot that appears anywhere on the body after birth, with a variety of sizes and shapes. The border is clear, and pigmentation increases on the adjacent skin. There are no subjective symptoms. If it occurs in areas of hair growth, the hair in that area turns gray. The cause is thought to be autonomic nervous system disorder or autoimmunity, but it has not been determined. Methods for promoting melanin formation in pigment cells include applying bergamot oil and exposing it to a sunlamp, taking methoxypsoralen or applying Solleran lotion topically followed by ultraviolet light exposure, and intradermal injection of TTG followed by ultraviolet light exposure.

尋常性白斑のこと。白癜風(はくでんぷう)ともいう。後天的に全身の随所にできる白斑で，大きさ，形はさまざま。境界は明瞭で，これに隣接する皮膚面では，逆に色素沈着が増す。自覚症状はない。発毛部にできると，その部分の毛髪は白毛化する。原因は自律神経障害説，自己免疫説があるが未確定。色素細胞のメラニン形成を促す方法として，ベルガモット油を塗布し太陽灯照射，メトキシプソラレン内服またはソレランローション外用後に紫外線照射，TTG皮内注射と紫外線照射など。
