Hitoshi Fujii

Japanese: 藤井斉 - ふじいひとし

1904-1932 A military man and nationalist in the early Showa period.
Born on August 3, 1904. He was involved with Okawa Shumei and Nishida Mitsugu, and in 1928 organized radical naval officers into the Oushikai, which aimed to reform the nation. He also sympathized with Inoue Nissho and opposed the London Naval Treaty. In 1921, he became a naval captain. In 1922, he participated in the Shanghai Incident, and was killed in action on February 5 during a reconnaissance flight, and was promoted to major. He was 29 years old. Born in Saga Prefecture. Graduated from the Naval Academy.

明治37年8月3日生まれ。大川周明,西田税(みつぐ)らとかかわり,昭和3年急進的な海軍士官を組織して国家改造をめざす王師会を結成。また井上日召に共鳴し,ロンドン軍縮条約に反対した。6年海軍大尉。7年上海事変に従軍し,2月5日偵察飛行中に戦死,少佐進級。29歳。佐賀県出身。海軍兵学校卒。
