Mr. Fuji - Fujiuji

Japanese: 富士氏 - ふじうじ

Since ancient times, he was a local lord who succeeded the head of Fuji County in Suruga Province. Sengen Shrine The Fuji clan, whose members held such positions as Daigūji of the Asama Shrine, Kumon, and Anzu, also made a name for themselves as warriors, gaining the status of Kamakura Gokenin and serving as archers in the Yumihajime (Archers of the Archery Division). According to the genealogy handed down by the Daigūji family, they were descendants of Wanibe no Omi and were first appointed as Dairō of Fujigun during the reign of Toyomaro at the end of the 8th century. After that, they exerted their influence as Gunji of the same district, gained the position of Shinto priest of the Asama Shrine, and approached the nobles in Kyoto, leading to their appointment as kokushi (provincial governor). Toyomaro's ninth son, Michitoki, became the deputy judge for the household of Shōshi, the daughter of the regent Fujiwara no Michinaga. The Fuji clan, whose members held such positions as Daigūji of the Asama Shrine, Kumon, and Anzu, also made a name for themselves as warriors, gaining the status of Kamakura Gokenin (vassals of the Kamakura shogunate) and serving as archers in the Yumihajime (Archers of the Archery Division). In the Wada War (1213), Fujishiro was killed as one of the assassins of the Wada clan.

古代より駿河国富士郡大領をつぐ土豪で，富士浅間神社の祠官。大宮司家に伝えられる系図によれば，和邇部臣（わにべのおみ）の後裔で8世紀末豊麻呂の代に初めて富士郡大領に任じたという。以後同郡郡司として在地に勢力を張り，浅間神社祠官の地位を得，京の公家にも接近して国司に任ぜられた。豊麻呂9代の孫道時は関白藤原道長の娘上東門院彰子の家の判官代（ほうがんだい）となっている。浅間神社大宮司･公文（くもん）･案主（あんず）などの地位を一族で占めるようになった富士氏は武士としても名をあげ，鎌倉御家人の地位を得て弓始（ゆみはじめ）の射手を務め，和田合戦(1213)では和田一族討手の一人として〈富士四郎〉が討死している。
