Also written as 'Fuka-suki'. A type of footwear, there are two types. (1) Long sandals attached to the morning robes of nobles. Made of leather with black lacquer coating, with purple leather edging. Worn when wearing formal attire, and also in heavy rain and deep snow. (2) Straw boots worn by ordinary people. Footwear for walking on snowy roads. 深履とも書く。はきものの一つで2種類ある。 (1) 公家の朝服に付属する長履。革製黒漆塗りで,縁に紫革を用いる。束帯姿の際に着用され,また大雨,深雪にも用いた。 (2) 一般庶民に用いられたわら製の長靴。雪道のはきもの。
