As the automation of production processes progresses, there is less and less room for cost reduction in those processes, making this a production management technique that has emerged in the following steps: (1) understanding the functions of the target materials and parts, (2) understanding the current processing and procurement methods and costs, (3) creating and listing alternatives, (4) estimating the feasibility of each alternative and their costs, (5) selecting the most suitable alternative, and (6) implementing it (such as design, negotiations with vendors, or changes to equipment).
