Fermat number - Fermat number

Fermat number - Fermat number
Integers of the form are called Fermat numbers, and when they are prime they are called Fermat primes. In the following, F n will be written as F n . F 0 = 3, F 1 = 5, F 2 = 17, F 3 = 257, F 4 = 65537, all of which were prime numbers, and P. de Fermat realized that F n were all prime numbers, and further predicted that all F n would be prime numbers, hence the name. Fermat also showed that (mod F n ) holds. In 1732, L. Euler decomposed F 5 into 641 x 6700417 and discovered that F 5 is a composite number.
