Born: September 4, 1755 in Stockholm
[Died] June 20, 1810, Stockholm. Swedish soldier and diplomat. Count. Son of F. Fersen. Served in the French army and was sent to America during the American War of Independence. He was close to Marie Antoinette and formed friendships with the French royal family. During the Revolution, he arranged for the royal family to escape (1791), and later participated in the formation of the counter-revolutionary coalition. After returning to Sweden, he was suspected of being responsible for the sudden death of Christian Augustus, the heir to the throne, and was attacked by a mob during the funeral and died.

A city in the province of North Holland in the northwest of the Netherlands. It is located about 18 km northwest of Amsterdam, near the mouth of the North Sea Canal, which connects Amsterdam to the North Sea. IJmuiden and Santpoort at the mouth of the canal form part of the city. Railways and roads run under the canal via the Velsen Tunnel. It is the center of the steel industry in the Netherlands, and industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, and papermaking are also carried out there. It forms a metropolitan area connected to Beverwijk on the north bank of the canal. Population: 61,506, metropolitan area: 130,628 (1992 estimate).

[Died] April 24, 1794, Stockholm. Swedish soldier, member of the Estates-Government. Count. Leader of the Hat Party. Opposed the Cap Party, which was in power at the time, and allied with Gustav III, but became disillusioned with the absolute monarchy and retired from politics (1789).

オランダ北西部,ノールトホラント州の都市。アムステルダムの北西約 18km,アムステルダムと北海を結ぶ北海運河の河口付近に位置する。河口のアイモイデン,サントポールトなどは市域の一部を形成。運河の下をフェルセン・トンネルによって鉄道,道路が通じている。オランダの鉄鋼業の中心地で,冶金,化学,製紙などの工業も行われる。運河北岸のベフェルワイクと連接して大都市圏を形成。人口6万 1506,大都市圏 13万 628 (1992推計) 。
