Deferral - deferral

This system allows taxpayers to postpone payment of taxes for a limited period of time, taking into consideration the time required to prepare the funds to pay the taxes. This system applies to income tax, corporate tax, inheritance tax, and gift tax. If a taxpayer is allowed to postpone payment, they will not be subject to late payment penalties or reminders during the period of deferral, but will be subject to interest tax at an annual rate of 7.3% on the deferred tax amount, taking into consideration the balance with taxpayers who paid immediately. There is also a system for deferring payment of the sale proceeds or exchange margin of national property.

納税者の納税資金の準備に必要な期間を考慮し、一定期間を限って租税の納付の延期を認める制度。所得税、法人税、相続税、贈与税について認められている。延納を許可された場合には、延納の期間中に延滞税を課されたり督促を受けることはないが、即納した納税者とのバランスを考慮して、延納する税額に年7.3％の割合を乗じた利子税が課される。なお、国有財産の売却代金または交換差金などにも延納の制度がある。
