This refers to cabarets, waiting rooms, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, dance halls, coffee shops and bars with lighting and space below certain standards, mahjong parlors, pachinko parlors, and other businesses with similar facilities to entertain customers and provide entertainment or meals, as well as businesses that provide slot machines, video game machines, and other equipment for gaming. They are subject to the Act on the Control and Proper Management of Entertainment and Amusement Businesses (the so-called Entertainment and Amusement Businesses Act), and cannot be operated without the permission of the Prefectural Public Safety Commission. In addition, there are restrictions on structure and equipment, business hours, lighting, noise and vibration, advertising and promotion, fees, and entry of minors. In addition, under the Entertainment and Amusement Businesses Act before its revision in 1984, businesses related to sex-related entertainment and entertainment, such as bathhouses with private rooms, strip theaters and other performances where people show their naked bodies, love hotels and other accommodation businesses where people stay with their partners, and businesses selling items that arouse sexual curiosity, were regulated as "entertainment-related businesses." キャバレー，待合い，料理店，カフェー，ナイトクラブ，ダンスホール，照度や広さなどが一定基準以下の喫茶店とバー，麻雀屋，パチンコ屋，その他これらに類する設備を設けて客を接待し，遊興または飲食させる営業，およびスロットマシン，テレビゲーム機などを店舗にそなえて遊戯をさせる営業をいう。風俗営業等の規制及び業務の適正化等に関する法律 (いわゆる風営法) の規制を受け，都道府県公安委員会の許可を受けなければ営むことができない。また構造・設備，営業時間，照度，騒音・振動，広告・宣伝，料金，年少者の立ち入りなどについて規制される。このほか 1984年改正前の風営法においては，個室付浴場，ストリップ劇場などの衣服を脱いだ人の姿態を見せる興行，ラブホテルなどの同伴宿泊営業，性的好奇心をそそる物品販売業など性風俗に関係する営業を「風俗関連営業」として規制していた。 (→風俗営業法 )
