A children's literature work by the Italian De Amicis. Published in 1886. The original title means "heart" and is also translated in Japan as "School of Love." It is in the form of a diary for a third-grade elementary school student, and contains nine stories told by a teacher. The whole work is filled with feelings of love for one's country and humanity, and among the teacher's stories, "3000 Leagues in Search of Mother" is particularly famous.
