Wuyi Mountains

Japanese: 武夷山脈 - ぶいさんみゃく

A mountain range that runs from northeast to southwest along the border between Jiangxi and Fujian provinces in China, connecting to Xianxialing in the north and Jiulianshan in the south. It is the watershed between the Ganjiang and Minjiang rivers, with an elevation of around 1000m. It was so named because it is said that a god named Wuyi Jun lived in it. Its main peak, Huanggang Mountain, has an elevation of 2158m and is located northwest of Chong'an County in Fujian Province. Wuyi Mountain (about 600m), located southwest of Chong'an County, is known as the most famous mountain in Fujian Province. It is surrounded by valleys, and its scenery is known as "Three Three Quotations of the River" (i.e. the Nine Quotations of the River) and "Six Six Peaks Surrounding the Mountain" (i.e. the Three Six Peaks).

中国の江西省と福建省の省境を北東から南西に走る山脈で，北は仙霞嶺に，南は九連山につながる。贛江（かんこう）と閩江（びんこう）の分水嶺で，標高は1000m前後。武夷君という神仙がいたというのでこの名がある。主峰の黄崗山は標高2158mで，福建省崇安県の北西にある。崇安県の南西にある武夷山(約600m)は福建省第一の名山として知られる。周囲は渓谷でかこまれ，その景観は〈渓曲三三水〉(つまり九曲渓)，〈山環六六峰〉(つまり三六峰)と称される。
