Hanazono [town] - Hanazono
A former town in Osato County in northern Saitama Prefecture. It occupies a plateau on the left bank of the Arakawa River. Vegetable and flower cultivation, seedling production, and livestock farming are thriving. The Arakawa Central Agricultural Irrigation Project, which began in 1959, has led to the development of farmland on the plateau. The Hanazono Interchange on the Kan'etsu Expressway is located here. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Fukaya City along with Kawamoto Town and Okabe Town in Osato County. Area: 15.82 km2 . Population: 12,855 (2003).
