New Citizens' Association

Japanese: 新民会 - しんみんかい

A Korean nationalist movement group formed in 1907 after the conclusion of the Japan-Korea Protectorate Treaty. It was organized as a secret society by Ahn Chang-ho, Yang Ki-duk, Lee Dong-nyeong, Lee Dong-hui, and others. According to the General Rules of the New Korean People's Association, its objectives were to reform the people's ideas and customs, promote education and industry, and unite the people, and through these, "establish a free and civilized nation." It is said that its membership reached about 800 people, including Kim Gu, Park Un-sik, Shin Chae-ho, and Lee Seung-hoon. Its core consisted of the emerging citizenry and intellectuals, many of whom were Christians.

日韓保護条約締結後の1907年に結成された朝鮮の民族運動団体。安昌浩を中心に梁起鐸，李東寧，李東輝らによって秘密結社として組織された。〈大韓新民会通用章程〉によればその目的は，国民の思想･習慣の革新，教育と産業の振興，国民の団結，そしてそれらを通した〈自由文明国の樹立〉とされた。会員は金九，朴殷植，申采浩，李昇薫らをはじめ，約800名に達したといわれる。中心は新興市民層，知識人層で，その多くはクリスチャンであった。
