Cylindrical pottery culture

...Production began in the middle of the Jomon period, peaked at the end of the middle to beginning of the late period, and then declined. They are distributed mainly in Aomori Prefecture, from southwestern Hokkaido to Yamagata and Miyagi Prefectures, which corresponds to the area of ​​the cylindrical pottery culture that flourished in the early and middle Jomon periods, although the period differs. It is rare for multiple pottery pieces to be excavated from a site, and only around 60 examples have been discovered, so it is thought that they were not used for practical purposes but for rituals for the entire village.
