Fiber bundle

For topological spaces E , B , F , if there is a continuous map p : E → B and the following condition holds, then E is said to be a fiber bundle on B with F as its fiber, and p : E → B is called its projection. For any point b in B , if we take an appropriate neighborhood U of b , then there exists a homeomorphism between the Cartesian product U × F of U and F and the inverse image p ^-1 ( U ) of U with respect to p that projects each point ( x , y ) of U × F onto p ^-1 ( x ). This condition means that p : E → B is a Cartesian product locally (i.e., in a certain neighborhood of each point of B ).

位相空間E,B,Fに対して，連続写像p：E→Bがあって，次の条件が成り立つとき，Eは，FをファイバーとするB上のファイバーバンドルであるといい，p：E→Bをその射影という。Bのどの点bについても，bの適当な近傍Uをとれば，UとFの直積U×FとpによるUの逆像p^－1(U)との間に，U×Fの各点(x,y)をp^－1(x)の上にうつすような同相写像が存在する。この条件はp：E→Bは局所的には(すなわち，Bの各点のある近傍上では)直積であることを意味している。
