The name of a Taoist temple in China. Kan means Taoist temple. Xuanmiao Temple in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a Taoist temple founded in 276 (Xianning 2) of the Jin Dynasty, and was renamed Zhengyeong Taoist Temple in 1295 (Yuanzhen 1) of the Yuan Dynasty after several name changes. It was renamed Xuanmiao Temple in 1295 (Yuanzhen 1) of the Yuan Dynasty, and then renamed Enmiao Temple in the Qing Dynasty to avoid the name of the sage. It was burned down during the invasion of the Jin Dynasty, but the Sanqing Hall was rebuilt in 1179 (Chunxi 6) of the Southern Song Dynasty and still remains today. It is a magnificent wooden building with a double gable roof and is a representative relic of Song Dynasty architecture in the Jiangnan region. 中国の道教寺院の名称。観は道教寺院のこと。江蘇省蘇州城内にある玄妙観は,晋の276年(咸寧2)に創建された真慶道院で,その後数次の改称をへて元の1295年(元貞1)に玄妙観となり,清代に聖祖の諱(いみな)を避けて円妙観と改称。金の侵入により焼失したが,南宋の1179年(淳熙6)に再建された三清殿が現存する。二重入母屋造の壮大な木造建築で,江南地方の宋代建築の代表的遺構。殿内の三清像も道教塑像の代表的作品。
