Pyrazine

1,4-diazabenzene. _{C 4} H ₄ N ₂ (80.09). Also called palladium. It is obtained by oxidative self-condensation of aminoacetaldehyde with mercuric chloride (II) and sodium hydroxide. It is a colorless crystal with a heliotrope-like odor. Melting point 57 °C, boiling point 116 °C. 1.031. 1.4953. Soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. It is sublimable and can be steam distilled. It has aromatic and tertiary amine properties. It can be reduced to piperazine. [CAS 290-37-9]

1,4-diazabenzene．C₄H₄N₂(80.09)．パラジアジンともいう．アミノアセトアルデヒドを塩化水銀(Ⅱ)と水酸化ナトリウムとで酸化的自己縮合させると得られる．ヘリオトロープ様の香りをもつ無色の結晶．融点57 ℃，沸点116 ℃．1.031．1.4953．水，エタノール，エーテルに可溶．昇華性があり，水蒸気蒸留ができる．芳香族性と第三級アミンの性質をもつ．還元すればピペラジンになる．[CAS 290-37-9]
