A former town in Wake District, on the southeastern edge of Okayama Prefecture. It includes the Hinase Islands, including Ootabu Island, Kashira Island, and Kakui Island. Hinase, the main settlement along the Ako Line, is a fishing town that once went fishing to Korea. Oysters and yellowtail are cultivated. There are many firebrick factories, and fishing nets are also manufactured. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Yoshinaga Town, Wake District, and Bizen City. 35.91 km2 . 8,821 people (2003).
