A poet of the Heian period. The third son of Tokiwa Tango no Kami Tametada. His mother was the daughter (or Natsutomo) of Tachibana no Tayu (or Toshimune). His real name was Moritada. He had a son, Takanobu, a portrait artist and poet, with Bifukumon'in Kaga (who later remarried to Fujiwara no Shunzei and gave birth to Teika), but in 1143 (Kouji 2), he abandoned his official position, wife and children and became a monk. He took the posthumous name Jakucho, and along with his brothers Tamenari (Jakunen) and Yorinari (Jakuzen), he was known as the Tokiwa Sanjaku (Ohara Sanjaku). He participated in two poetry contests organized by his father Tametada. He also had contact with Saigyo. He also criticized the Shikashu and chose the Goyoshu. He is said to be the author of Imakagami. 平安時代の歌人。常盤丹後守為忠の3男。母は橘大夫(俊宗か)の娘(なつとも)。本名は盛忠。美福門院加賀(のちに藤原俊成に再嫁し,定家を生む)との間に似絵作者で歌人でもある隆信をもうけるが,康治2(1143)年官位も妻子も捨てて出家した。法名を寂超と名乗り,兄弟の為業(寂念),頼業(寂然)と共に常盤三寂(大原三寂)と呼ばれた。父為忠の主催する2度の歌合に出詠。西行とも交流があった。また『詞花集』を非難して,『後葉集』を選んだ。『今鏡』の作者ともいわれる。しみじみとした寂寥感のなかに落ち着きの感じられる作風。<参考文献>井上宗雄『増補版・平安後期歌人伝の研究』
