There are approximately 2,000 species in the world, and around 280 species live in Japan, including starfish, sand starfish (illustration), maple shells (illustration), starfish, river star, red starfish (illustration), blue starfish, pectinate starfish (illustration), crown-of-thorns starfish (illustration), Romaji starfish, octopus starfish, Japanese sea starfish (illustration), and manju starfish.
