Tetsunishi [town] - Tetsunishi
A former town in Atetsu District, in the west of Okayama Prefecture, bordering Hiroshima Prefecture. The main settlements were Ichioka, Yakami, and Nochi (later) which were on the Geibi Line. Yatori prospered by transporting goods to the Yoshioka Copper Mine in the early modern period. The plateau is a production area for Tetsusei beef, and its specialty is Chinese chestnuts. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Niimi City along with Osa Town, Shingo Town, and Tetta Town in Atetsu District. 76.29 km2 . 3,250 people (2003).
