A former town in Saga County, Saga Prefecture, bordering the south of Saga City. It is reclaimed land facing the Ariake Sea, and is mainly cultivated as rice, with a high yield per tan. Dairy farming, greenhouse horticulture such as strawberries, and seaweed farming are also thriving. In October 2007, it was incorporated into Saga City along with Kawazoe Town and Kubota Town in Saga County. 15.39 km2 . 7,930 people (2005). 佐賀県佐賀郡，佐賀市の南に接する旧町。有明海に臨む干拓地で，米作を主とし反収が多い。酪農，イチゴなどの施設園芸，ノリ養殖も盛ん。2007年10月佐賀郡川副町，久保田町と佐賀市へ編入。15.39km2。7930人（2005）。
