A former town in Saga County, Saga Prefecture, bordering the south of Saga City. It is reclaimed land facing the Ariake Sea, and is mainly cultivated as rice, with a high yield per tan. Dairy farming, greenhouse horticulture such as strawberries, and seaweed farming are also thriving. In October 2007, it was incorporated into Saga City along with Kawazoe Town and Kubota Town in Saga County. 15.39 km2 . 7,930 people (2005).
