The deities worshipped are Oyamakui-no- Kami, Kunitokotachi-no-Kami , Izanami -no-Kami , and Tarashi Nakatsuhiko -no-Mikoto. It began in the Bunmei era ( 1469-87 ) when Ota Dokan moved Sanno Gongen from Muryoju-ji Temple in Kawagoe, Musashi Province, to Edo Castle and made it the guardian deity within the castle.
