Wife of Ashikaga Yoshiakira, the second Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate. She gave birth to Yoshimitsu and his younger brother Mitsuakira. Daughter of Zenpoji Michikiyo, inspector of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. Yoshiko's mother was the granddaughter of Prince Yotsutsujinomiya Yoshitsugu, son of Emperor Juntoku, and it is said that the theory that Yoshimitsu was the descendant of Imperial Yoshimitsu was born because Yoshimitsu's maternal lineage contained some imperial blood, and that this is how Yoshimitsu approached the Imperial family. It is also said that Yoshimitsu was promoted to Minister of the Left at the young age of 25 because Yoshiko was of imperial blood. She was highly esteemed as Yoshimitsu's birth mother and was even awarded the rank of Juichii. She was a follower of Shun'ya Myoha. 室町幕府2代将軍足利義詮の妻。義満,その弟満詮らを生む。石清水八幡宮検校善法寺通清の娘。良子の母が順徳天皇の皇子四辻宮善統親王の孫に当たり,義満の母系に皇統の血が混ざっているところから,義満皇胤説が生まれたとも,義満の皇室接近が行われたともいわれる。義満が25歳という若さで左大臣昇進をとげたのも,良子が皇統の血をひくからかともいわれている。義満の生母として重んじられ,従一位にまで叙せられた。春屋妙葩に帰依した。法号を洪恩院殿月海如光禅定尼という。<参考文献>臼井信義『足利義満』
