A town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. It is located at the southern end of the Kamikawa Basin, and the Furano Line runs through it. The eastern part of the town is part of Daisetsuzan National Park, and is home to Mount Tokachi and Shirogane Onsen. The town produces rice, beans, wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, and other crops, and also processes wood. Area: 676.78 km2 . Population: 10,956 (2010). 北海道中央部，上川郡の町。上川盆地南端部にあり，富良野(ふらの)線が通じる。東部は大雪山国立公園に属し，十勝岳，白金(しろがね)温泉がある。米，豆類，麦類，テンサイ，ジャガイモなどを産し，木材加工も行われる。676.78km2。１万956人（2010）。
