A town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. It is located at the southern end of the Kamikawa Basin, and the Furano Line runs through it. The eastern part of the town is part of Daisetsuzan National Park, and is home to Mount Tokachi and Shirogane Onsen. The town produces rice, beans, wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, and other crops, and also processes wood. Area: 676.78 km2 . Population: 10,956 (2010).
