[Born] 1653.10.8? Paris [Died] December 22, 1729. A French actor from Paris. His real name was Boyron. Both of his parents were actors at the Théâtre de Bourgogne, and he joined the Prince's company at an early age, but was taken in by Molière and trained there, and after 1670 he played major roles. In 1673 he moved to the Théâtre de Bourgogne and helped to establish the Comédie-Française, after which he played leading roles in tragedies and comedies, and was highly praised by Racine.
