Schreidrama

Japanese: Schreidrama
Schreidrama

...This is also common to W. Hasencleber's "The Son" (1914) and later Arnolt Bronnen's (1895-1959) "The Murder of the Father" (1920). The "Scream Drama," in which lines are reduced to sound, was written by A. Strahm, who died in World War I. As the war drew to a close, works such as "Ein Geschlecht" by Fritz von Unruh (1885-1970) and "Seeschlacht" (1917), which show a peaceful and anti-war tendency, appeared, depicting a sailor trapped in a gun turret (Goering's "Seeschlacht" was performed at the Tsukiji Little Theater when it was first established, and is said to have had a great influence on the new Japanese theater scene at the time).
