Parindra (English spelling)

Japanese: パリンドラ（英語表記）Parindra

A nickname for the Great Indonesia Party, Partai Indonesia Raya, one of the nationalist parties in colonial Indonesia. In the 1930s, the nationalist movement was suppressed by the non-cooperation movement led by Sukarno and Hatta, which directly confronted the colonial government, and only moderate groups were allowed to exist. The coalition of these groups was Parindra, which was formed at the end of 1935 by merging organizations such as Budi Utomo, the Indonesian National Party, Kaum Batawi, and the Celebes Union.

植民地時代のインドネシアの民族主義政党の一つ，大インドネシア党Partai Indonesia Rayaの通称。1930年代の民族主義運動は，植民地政府と正面から対決するスカルノ，ハッタらの非協力運動が弾圧され，穏健な路線を歩む団体だけがその存在を認められた。これら諸団体の連合組織がパリンドラで，1935年末に，ブディ･ウトモ，インドネシア民族党，カウム･バタウィ，セレベス同盟等の組織が合併して結成された。
