Eikyouki - Record of Eikyou

Japanese: 永享記 - えいきょうき

A war tale from the Muromachi period on the Eikyō Rebellion and the subsequent state of affairs in the Kanto region. Both the author and the date of its creation are unknown. Focusing on the Kamakura kubō Ashikaga Mochiuji and his son Nariuji, the story mainly describes the causes and course of the Eikyō Rebellion and the Battle of Yuki, and the conflict between the Koga kubō and Horikoshi kubō, with an added note on the state of affairs in the Kanto region from the appearance of Ota Dokan to the advance of Hojo Soun. 永享の乱とその後の関東の情勢を題材にした室町時代の戦記物語。作者，成立年代ともに不明。鎌倉公方足利持氏とその子成氏を中心に，永享の乱･結城合戦の原因と経過，古河公方と堀越公方の対立の模様を主に述べ，さらに太田道灌の登場から北条早雲の進出に至るまでの関東の形勢を付記する。15世紀の関東地方を知る上で好史料であり，内容はきわめて正確である。《続群書類従》所収。【鳥居和之】
