A Hmong state that flourished from around the 11th century to the end of the 13th century, centered around Lamphun in northwestern Thailand. Haripunjaya is the Pali name, and in Thai it is called Haripunchai. According to Pali history books such as Chamadevivansa and Jinakaramali, written in Chiang Mai in the 15th and 16th centuries, and the Lanna Thai history book Moonrasasana, Haripunchai was the capital city built by the sage Basudeva, and Chamadevi, the daughter of the King of Labapura (Lopburi), sailed up the Ping River with 500 retainers to reach there and establish a dynasty.
