Inguinal canal

A 4-5 cm tube that descends above the inguinal ligament in the lower abdominal wall. In men, the spermatic cord that leads to the scrotum passes through its cavity, while in women, the round ligament of the uterus that leads to the labia majora passes through its cavity. Inguinal hernias occur when parts of the intestine or other organs pass through this tube, and are more common in men. 腹壁下部で鼠径靭帯の上方を下行する4～5cmの管。内腔に男性では陰嚢にいたる精索，女性では大陰唇にいたる子宮円索が通っている。鼠径ヘルニアは腸などの一部がこの管を通って脱出するもので，男子に多い。
