A wild sheep of the Bovidae family in the order Artiodactyla. It is also called a bighorn sheep. Its body length is 130-195 cm. Its body is gray-brown with a large white spot on its lower back. Males have thick, curved horns. During mating season, males fight by clashing their horns with each other. It is found in western North America (Rocky Mountains) and lives in groups of several on the rocky terrain of the mountains. 偶蹄目ウシ科の野生のヒツジ。ビッグホーンともいう。体長 130~195cm。体は灰褐色で,腰に大きな白色斑がある。雄の角は太く,湾曲する。交尾期には雄同士がこの角をぶつけ合って戦う。北アメリカ西部 (ロッキー山脈) に分布し,山地の岩場に数頭の群れをつくってすむ。
