Japanese: ボロニア（英語表記）Boronia

A general term for the genus Boronia in the family Rutaceae. It is a genus endemic to Australia, with about 70 species distributed. All are shrubs with alternate pinnate compound or simple leaves. Flowers are axillary or terminal, with a bell-shaped pendulous or star-shaped flat corolla. Potted plants include Boronia heterophylla , which produces purple-red bell-shaped flowers, Boronia pinnata , which produces pink, star-like, four-petaled flowers, and Boronia megastigma , which has bell-shaped corollas with purple-brown exteriors and yellow interiors. Keep them as cool as possible in summer and warm in winter. Overwintering temperatures of 5°C or higher are necessary.
