[Essays, Kiyū Shōran (1830)] [2][1] A river in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture. It originates in Lake Ashi, a crater lake in Mount Hakone, flows northeast, joins the Sukumogawa River in Yumoto, and empties into Sagami Bay in Odawara City. Its total length is about 30 kilometers. [2] A river in the western part of Yamanashi Prefecture. It originates in the northern part of the Southern Alps, near Mount Shirane, flows south, and joins the Fujigawa River near Iitomi, Minobu Town. Its total length is about 60 kilometers.

[1] 〘名〙① 流れのはやい川。早瀬川。※万葉（８Ｃ後）一六・三八八〇「しただみをい拾(ひり)ひもちきて石もちつつきやぶり早川に洗ひ濯き」② (京都の武士、早川主馬という人がしめていたというところから) 赤ふんどし。〔随筆・嬉遊笑覧（1830）〕[2][一] 神奈川県西部の川。箱根山の火口原湖である芦ノ湖に源を発し、北東流して湯本で須雲川を合わせ、小田原市で相模湾に注ぐ。全長約三〇キロメートル。[二] 山梨県西部の川。南アルプス北部、白根山付近に源を発し、南下して身延町飯富付近で富士川に合流する。全長約六〇キロメートル。
